Located in the Bois-Franc region, the Demtec plant is an industry leader in the field of factory-built housing and a source of pride for the population in this part of central Quebec.
Everything begins in the technical department, where your dreams are transformed into reality.
With a surface area of over 100,000 sq. ft. and employing some 100 persons, the plant is divided into two sections.
The first section assembles modules, floors and walls.
The sections are transported by cranes and assembled on site.
The sections are moved from one workstation to another, and end at the loading dock for delivery to worksites.
All wiring and plumbing is preinstalled in walls and floors.
Doors and windows are installed under best quality conditions, as per the client’s specifications.
The sections are moved from one workstation to another, and end at the loading dock for delivery to worksites.

The plant was modernized in 2007 and the automatic multi-function table takes up a large part of the plant. It fabricates walls and floors in panels with a degree of precision unobtainable on outside construction sites.
The automatic table assembles the wood components, fixes the panels in place and cuts out the openings in the panel before turning it over and installing the insulation and assembling the other side, all with incredible speed.
Once the panels are assembled, they are sent to the loading dock where they are placed in sections according to the correct unloading sequence. The panels are then loaded into sea containers if going overseas or onto large trucks, if they are to be delivered to construction sites in Canada or the United States.
